It’s another exciting week for HVMB as we head to Comerica Park to perform the National Anthem and get back to work after Band Camp! 🐯🎺 Please note that rehearsals have now moved to Lakeland High School for the remainder of the season.

📅 Tuesday, August 11

3:00 PM – Report to LHS for Tigers Game

4:00 PM – Depart for Comerica Park 🚌

~6:15 PM – Perform the National Anthem 🇺🇸🎺

~10:00 PM – Return to LHS

📅 Wednesday, August 12

3:00–9:00 PM – Post-Camp Rehearsal @ LHS

📅 Thursday, August 13

3:00–9:00 PM – Post-Camp Rehearsal @ LHS

8:30 PM – Friends & Family Performance + Mattress Fundraiser Presentation @ LHS Stadium 🎶

We’re headed to Comerica Park to perform the National Anthem!

3:00 PM – Report to LHS / brief rehearsal & load

4:00 PM – Depart for Comerica Park

5:00 PM – Arrive & head to tunnel

5:30 PM – Warm up

~6:15 PM – 🇺🇸 National Anthem Performance

~9:00 PM – Game ends / return to buses

~10:00 PM – Arrive back at LHS

👕 What to Wear

• Black HVMB performance shirt
• Black or gray shorts — neat looking, no cutoffs
• Plain athletic/tennis shoes

🍔 Bring money for dinner/concessions.

🎟️ Additional Tickets: Pre-ordered tickets will be distributed at the giant Tiger statue at Gate A on Witherell. Please make sure your ticket invoice has been paid before pickup.

🚗 Students will return to LHS by bus. If your student will leave Comerica Park with you instead, please complete the Student Release Form and check them out with the chaperones before leaving.

☀️ Post-Camp Rehearsals

Wednesday and Thursday rehearsals run 3:00–9:00 PM at Lakeland High School.

Students should bring:

• 🥪 Bag lunch/food — students may not leave campus
• 💧 Plenty of water or a large refillable water jug
• 🧴 Sunscreen
• 👟 Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and marching shoes

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Friends & Family Performance

Join us Thursday, August 13 at 8:30 PM at the Lakeland High School Stadium for a first look at this year’s show! 🎺🥁🎌

Friends and family are welcome to come see what the students have been working on and get a preview of Totality. 🌑☀️

There will also be a brief presentation about the upcoming Mattress Fundraiser, scheduled for September 20 at the MHS Cafeteria.

🎨 2026 Show Shirt Design Contest

Students interested in designing this year’s show shirt should submit their artwork by Thursday, August 13.

This year’s design should feature themes from Totality — the moon, eclipse, and/or the new day emerging from the darkness. 🌑🌒☀️
